Interactive Cards - Neil Walker

Morning all,

Hope you are all ok,
did you all survive the flooding on
A month's rain in one hour and oh my
goodness, the storm, it was right overhead
and I've never heard such loud thunder!

Ok, so this week we said to the DT...
Interactive Cards....
wonder what they came up with?

Neil first -

Cut a piece of white card approx 1cm smaller
as your card blank. Dab with a selection
of Distress Stains. Spritz with water and blot
 dry with tissue.

Stamp the small circle stamp onto a scrap
of card with green and yellow Archival ink.
and ART in the centre with Jet Black.
Stamp the sentiment onto the piece of
card and fill with a selection of the images
from the plate. Cut out the ART element.

Matt both pieces onto black card. Punch a
hole into the card front where the ART is to go.

Now the fun bit....... add a glue dot to a
piece of card. to this add a piece of bakers
twine. Cut this out carefully trying not to
touch the glue dot. Then you need to somehow
get a brad through this too LOL

I poked a hole through and got the brad
through. Add another glue dot to the top
of the of the first top to create a kind of
sandwich of glue with the string and brad
between. Cover the this with a scrap of tissue.
You want to get rid of any sticky residue. Trim
the edges. place a small piece of super strong
tape on the top and adhere to the back of
 the ART element

Secure loosely to the card through the hole
and wrap the string loosely around the back
Create a tag at the end of the string and
 write pull in white pen.

When you pull the element will spin........
just a little bit of fun interactivity.

Wow, thank you Neil, it's nice to do
something a little different sometimes
and I love the idea of writing the instructions
on the tag so that the recipient knows what
to do!!

This is what Neil used -
A6 Textured White Card and Envelopes
Smooth White Stamping Card
300g Card - Black
Archival Ink - Jet Black
Archival Ink - Olive
Archival Ink - Sunflower
PaperArtsy Stamps - Emma Godfrey - 15
Double Sided Tape
Stix2 3D Craft Dots
Fancy Twine

Do have a go and let us know how you
get on!

See you tomorrow,

Jane x

  1. Sounds like this requires a lot of dexterity to handle the glue dots... I'd love to try though!
